Jeff Mozingo has been surrounded by music his entire life. His father, Don, was a music teacher for 20 years before starting the family business, Mozingo Music, in 1972. Throughout his middle school and high school years he was a part of the St. Louis All Suburban Band and played drums on a Hawaiian and Bermuda tour.
Mr. Mozingo received his bachelor of music performance degree in percussion from Southeast Missouri State University in 1983 and went into the family business that summer. Jeff taught music for two years at St. John’s Lutheran School with his father and has played professionally for twenty-nine years in which time he has played with such acts as Sammy Davis, Jr. and The Fifth Dimension.
Jeff now runs Mozingo Music with his brother, David. They are committed to furthering music education, servicing each school and music teacher, and helping to benefit their programs. He does numerous clinics for area school districts explaining sound using various percussion instruments keeping music education his main focus.
Jeff has played drums for contemporary Christian artist Mark Roach and a latin/jazz band Soul Circus under the direction of Lorenzo Trujillo. He currently plays at middle and high schools with a 501c3 non profit organization called The Awaken Project which speaks to students about drug awareness and music advocacy. He plays at area churches as well when needed.
His wife Rhonda and two children, Beth & Chris, are all musically inclined and he has 3 grand children who are an absolute joy and blessing.
