BIO

Nader Rahy began teaching himself to play the drums at the age of twelve. At the age of 16, he was the singer and guitarist in a rockabilly band. He also became the singer and songwriter of the band Nada Brama, which won the international band competition Emergenza in 2000, where Rahy was also honored as ‘best singer’.

In 2002, he became the guitarist in the band of German million seller pop singer Nena. In the years that followed, he was active in the band as a live and studio musician as well as a composer; Nader was honoured with several gold and platinum awards for his collaboration with Nena during this time.

In 2009, Nader and his band Officer I’m High released a self-titled debut album on the Berlin independent label MKZwo. He composed and produced a large part of the soundtrack music for the 2009 cinema film Die Piloten (The Pilots), which documents the work of Christoph Schlingensief. The song Holy War from his band’s album became the film’s theme song. At the end of 2009, Nader wrote and produced the music for the four-part TV series Liebe ohne Grenzen (Love Without Borders), which was broadcast on German TV.

Nader also played drums on tours or recordings by various bands such as Warren Suicide and Silberrücken and joined Lenny Wolf’s band Kingdom Come in 2010, for which he drummed until 2014.

Shortly afterwards, he released his first solo album on his own. In October 2021, he released his second solo album IAMLOVE via his label IAMLOVE Records.

Since 2021, Rahy has been playing drums in Nena’s band, in which he was previously a guitarist.

“Excellent workmanship and super sexy look. The shells respond immediately, the bass drum is warm and powerful, and the snare has just the right kinda bite. The drums offer the versatility that I need for the different music styles in Nena’s band.” – Nader Rahy / NENA, Solo Artist
