Dre started playing drums at the age of two at church. He was inspired by his pastor’s son, who was a church drummer and would allow him to play for junior choir at church. Dre never went to school to learn drumming; he studied other instruments such as trombone and violin. He attended Shaw VPA where his band teacher allowed him to study drums.
