Nicola Montagnoli was born in Castiglione delle Stiviere (Mantova) in December 1993. At the age of 9 he discovered drums by attending the music school “Circolo Musicale Diapason” in Guidizzolo, a village in the province of Mantua. After learning the first rudiments thanks to his drums educator Marco Vanazzi, he started to play in the musical band of his village; and further on he entered the Modern Music Academy where he got to know Mr Franco Rossi, his present drums educator.
He has been attending seminars and lessons with drummers of the caliber of Skip Hadden, Israel Varela, Dennis Chambers, Walfredo Reyes jr., Dom Famularo, Billy Cobham (whit whom he played in a concert in Italy in November 2015). He started his professional activity as drums educator and musician at the age of 17. Now he teaches in the music school of his village, and in different schools of the Mantua territory and he also collaborates with the Modern Music Academy in Milan by organizing collective music courses for drums and percussions. He plays in different bands ranging from funk to soul to rock / blues. In live concerts and during teaching he uses Artisan Dixon Drums, Meinl Cymbals and Facus Drumsticks.
